Calafia Condos Will Be Hosting a Benefit Luncheon

In Mexico Early childhood education (pre – kindergarten) is not compulsory: there are only a few Government supported early childhood centers. There is a need to expand and improve comprehensive early childhood care and education, for girls and boys, especially for the most vulnerable and disadvantaged children.

For almost 30 years the Responsibility schools have given more then 3,500 children who live in and near Tijuana’s vast municipal garbage dumps a horizon beyond the smell, flies, and refuse. It takes a village, to educate a child. This non-profit organization relies on private donations to support schools and other community programs to assist families living in the Tijuana dump. Our primary fund raising event is an annual Gala and silent auction. In 2008, Cuba Gooding, Sr., a full-time Calafia resident, enthralled all Gala attendees at the Museum of Photographic Art in Balboa part, with his extraordinary performance. read more »
